A visit to Quake City is a must to understand the seismic events that shook Christchurch and Canterbury 10 years ago.

This special exhibition at 299 Durham Street North, Christchurch, is packed with interesting displays and interactives for all ages. Hear from those who lived through the earthquakes and those who came to help.

Learn about the science behind the quakes and with the help of a hands-on interactive understand the phenomenon of liquefaction. Suitable for visitors of all ages.

COVID-19 Orange Level

Visitors must produce their My Vaccine Pass (or a Ministry of Health medical exemption certificate) to gain entry.

Visitors will be asked to comply with public health conditions of entry. These include wearing a mask if over the age of 12; children under 12 years are encouraged to wear a mask. Visitors must sign in using the NZ COVID tracer app or the contact tracing register provided. Please download your My Vaccine Pass before arrival and sanitise your hands before presenting your pass for scanning, or your exemption certificate.
